Research trajectory
My interest in the study of cinema from an anthropological perspective emerged nearly two decades ago, at a time when academic training and areas of study in this field were either very underdeveloped or almost nonexistent in Spain. I found myself compelled to: 1) embark on a professional journey that would allow me to immerse myself in the production and realization of various media in order to research for my doctoral thesis, and 2) simultaneously and complementarily, develop my theoretical-methodological advancements through study programs available in other countries (U.K., U.S.). Below, I outline some of the experiences that have enriched my perspective, knowledge, audiovisual production, and research skills. Many of these are grounded in: "Practice-Based Research," where the creation of works embedded in practical-professional processes of film and audiovisual production aims to answer research questions posed within the academic field.
